How much money is ideal to take to Italy

How much money is ideal to take to Italy?
In September, I am going on an exchange trip with my school for 28 days to Italy. So that's basically all of september. I'm just wondering how much money (in Euro) would be around a good amount to take. I will be traveling to Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples, Pompeii, and then two weeks in Milan. I was thinking around the 1000 Euro mark... but that's just a guess. It's not backed up with anything. So advice be great thanks. Experiences and such :D Thankyou!

Oh, how exciting! I would take more than 1,000 though! Try, at the least, 1,400 - just in case of emergencies. Maybe even a bit more than that.

i took 1000 cash and 1000 on a card... it was way too much (i stayed two months). i was even paying for things like food everyday. it really depends on how much you buy, for example, my money would have gone in a day if i started buying jeans or something. remember, everything is gonna cost heaps more. refrain from buying stuff that's jsut cheaper in your country and you'll be fine! haha

Hi there! Lucky you! It really depends how much you wanna do and see. Are you gonna be paying for the transportation? Trains between these cities? Hydrofoils to Capri? Vaporettos in Venice (http://www.mediterranean-cruise-ports-easy.com/vaporetto.html)? Do you wanna see the museums? Buy some souvenirs? You probably won't be able to survive on Mc Donalds, little tramezzini sandwiches or pizza slices for 28 days, either, so keep in mind that a modest meal in these touristy cities can be at least Euros 20 (and that's cheep). In Italy, be aware of the prices displayed on the menus because there are cover charges/service charges on top of that. So take at least one meal a day like that, a bottle of water, entrance to a venue/museum, an ice-cream, maybe some transportation...honestly, I wouldn't feel comfortable without at least 40-50 euros per day. But that's just me...:) Good luck, and enjoy Italy, it's beautiful! Med Chick

Italy, because of the arts...if u could do a year, do it...I think that is cool...u could always visit Switzerland while in Italy...not to mention there is snow there...remember that the 2006 Winter Olympics were in Italy
2 :
For a female probably italy because there is more fashion.

Italy, of course. Italy has a lot of interesting culture and history. About languages, Switzerland has four official languages.

Italy, mainly rome. It's unreal. You can't describe it. Once you've been you feel like you are part of the city itself. AMAZING

I'm looking for research ideas involving Italy and China

I'm looking for research ideas involving Italy and China?
I am a college student that is looking for ideas for a multicultural research project to conduct in both Rome and Bejing, China. If I can come up with a good project, I might be able to get my trip to Rome and Bejing paid for. The project can be basically anything I want to research as long as it involves both cultures, since my school has campuses in both Italy and China. I'm wondering if anyone has any insight into contemporary issues facing both countries, in politics or religion or anything, I willing to research just about anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
