Cooking Schools in Italy

Cooking Schools in Italy?
I am looking to visit a cooking school with three friends. We are not worried about cost, but rather more concerned with having a really nice place to stay where they also offer Italian cooking classes. Anywhere from five to ten days. Has anyone been to one they can suggest?

This one in Toscana would be an excellent choice: http://www.italiancookerycourse.com/ There are lots of these covering all the regions in Italy. http://www.iluss.it/ita/scuole-cucina.html http://wvw.organictuscany.org/ http://chef2chef.net/culinary-institute/country/italy-culinary-schools.htm http://www.bolognacookingschool.com/

Here's a great place we stayed. This is the real Italy and the real italian cooking. It's off the beaten path, so if you want a major city this is not for you. But if you're interested in beautiful scenery and a great experience I recommend it. http://www.vacationinrome.it/lucolipackcooking.htm If you go tell Fabrizio that Bruno sent you

Sculpting classes in Italy

Sculpting classes in Italy?
I'm looking into spending a couple of months in Italy taking sculpting classes for clay and stone and I have no experience in the field yet but need to know what the best approach is? Any schools in Italy offering such intense program in English? Links to the school website and etc. will be very helpful. Any recommendations in this journey are also greatly appreciated.

I did sculpture and painting ceramics in Faenza (Ravenna). But other schools important in Italy are DAMS of Bologna and many schools are in Firenze and Roma. There are also http://www.itscultura.com/corsi.htm http://www.emagister.it/corso_corso_di_scultura-ec2447132.htm http://www.emagister.it/corso_corso_di_scultura_su_alabastro-ec2378567.htm http://www.michelangelo-edu.it/corsi-arte/scultura.htm http://www.accademiaeuropeafirenze.it/it/corsi/diArte/corso_Scultura.php Ciao ottima scelta. (excellent choice).

Hi, according to this article: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scuola_privata there were 57,579 schools in Italy on 2008, and 7,116 of them were catholic schools. That means 12%, more or less. Being Catholicism the main religion in Italy, we can infer that this is the total percentage of religious school in this country. Hope this can help. myahooo!

I am going to Italy and Greece on a school trip next summer.

I am going to Italy and Greece on a school trip next summer...?
and I have some questions. What temperature would the typical day in Rome or Athens be around the beginning of July? I might try to purchase some Italian designer items while there, would these be significantly cheaper than they are sold for in the US? How can I make sure they are not counterfeit? What type of foods might I come across that are unusual to American tastes? And lastly, would you have any tips for a traveler to these areas?

I'd start from a comprehensive yet easy to follow guide/virtual tour of Athens in order to get as much relevant information as possible before your trip. This is just one of the many you can find on the net: http://www.greece-athens.com/ You could do the same for Rome by visiting: http://www.enjoyrome.com After you have sampled some of the atmosphere you'll be able to compare the cities and see that the temperatures are almost the same: very hot in July. And very polluted. I don't think that the designer items are cheaper than in the US, especially not so in Rome. You should try a smaller city if you want to shop for clothes. The food should not be a surprise to you since both Greek&Italian food can be found in the US, but you'll find it a lot slower and a lot tastier. You can read the actual tips and dos&don'ts in the forums of almost all major tourist sites, but I don't think you need any special ones considering that both cities are so tourists-ridden, especially in the summer, that it's actually more difficult to be a local resident. Have a good time:)
