I am going to Italy this summer with my high school choir. I am really excited but i dont know what to wear...
I know that we are going to Rome, Milan and Venice. I also know that Italy is a place of fashion and fun. I want to dress causal but still fashion forward. I have heard from classmates that there are dress restrictions for going to the churches in Italy. What are they exactly? Are sun dresses appropriate? Jeans or shorts? Tanktops? Please Help....

hey! I went to Italy in summer 06, so I can answer your questions. Honestly, italian people dress just like american people. Just wear what you like. AND NO, NOT SWEAT PANTS! ;) I wore a lot of skirts and tight jeans and really nice shirts.. I wore jewelry (like the ones from claire's).... and I did my hair everyday. As for the church thing. YES, they do have restrictions. You have to wear something that covers the shoulders, and most of your legs. so.. NO SHORTS AND SKIRTS. I just wore a sundress that went down to my knees, and a shrug/shawl that went down to wrists over it. xD

okay, so this summer i went to italy for my third time. we went for a month, and it was SUPER fun. you will love it. first of all, yes, the churches do have restrictions. you have to were shoulder covering shirts, (no tanks) modest shirts (not a lot of cleavage) and sometimes no short shorts. you can always but a shawl for cheap to cover your shoulders if you forget, i had to do that alot. second, when we visited rome, it was really hot. you will want to bring all your typical summer clothing for italy, but bring some light layers for night, it gets colder then. if you really don't want to be an obvious tourist, then bring a nicer skirt or casuel dress for lunch. as you may know, lunch is the biggest meal of the day in italy, and it is considered inappropriate to wear little tiny pants and shirts for that. sun dresses are perfect, i practically lived in those. oh, and bermuda shorts do wonders, they are the perfect length thirdly, the fashion in italy in always changing. bring items of clothing that are timeless and cute. you can always but something while you are there. have lots of fun! i hope i helped, and have a lovely trip! <3

Is there any public CINEMA SCHOOL in Paris or anywhere in Italy

Is there any public CINEMA SCHOOL in Paris or anywhere in Italy? ?
I searched for it, but i only found private ones. And VERY expensive. I am a portuguese student, and I would like to study cinema abroad but it has to be in a public institution, or else I can't pay for the other expenses. Thank you!!

If you are a cinema student, you should have heard about the "Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia" in Rome. It is a "public foundation over 70 years old that manages the "Scuola Nazionale di Cinema", where famous movie directors and professionals teach students from all over the world. Another interesting Italian public school is the Istituto di Stato per la Cinematografia e la Televisione "Roberto Rossellini", which is also in Rome. It was founded 40 years ago and teaches high school graduates skills for working in movie productions and TV studios. Other interesting institutions are the Accademia Nazionale del Cinema, Libera Università del Cinema and Scuola d'Arte Cinematografica. Contact the Italian Institute of Culture in Lisbon to inquire about the possibility of obtaining scholarships to pursue your studies in Italy.

I'm Italian, and I have a question about USA school

I'm Italian, and I have a question about USA school?
What are the Holiday of the High School? Because, in Italy, we have 3 months of holiday in Summer (from the second week of June to the first week of September), two weeks for Christmas and one for Carneval and Easter. We go to school also Saturday... I'm very sorry for my grammar, in Italy we study more Latin than English (our stupid Minister)... Thank you very much!

Well School is Monday through Friday, off on saturdays and sundays. Also about Holiday it depends on the school district. some schools go to school Sept-May then off June, July and August on Holiday. Some schools have what is called year round school where you get 1 month off every 3/4 months.

American schools are very similar to yours, BUT we dont have school on saturdays. We also have many days off during the year, depending on the school you go to. your grammar is fine. You'll notice that most american's grammar is not the best ether.

1) I used to live in the flat/apartment that my father gave to me when I was 18 (or also "when I turned 18", it is not very clear which one of the two meanings the person who wrote this wanted to convey, but the 2nd one is likely to be the most common one). 2) Don't know

1 I lived in the apartment that my father had given to me as a gift at age 18. #2 Società Dante Alighieri is a society that promotes the Italian culture and language around the world. It It was formed in Italy in July 1889. As of today it operates throughout the world, with branches from the United States to Australia. Between Dante Perugia and Siena Dante seems the best for Italian language.

1-I live in the apartment that my father gave me at 18 years old. 2-I didn't understand it. Sorry :(

- "I lived n the apartment that my father gave to me (as a gift) when I was 18". - Perugia / Urbino have the biggest concentration of foreigners learning Italian in the country. They must be doing something right if so many non-Italian go there to learn the language. - The Dante Aligheri teaches Italian & Italian Life & Culture and are a mandated State institution. They operate world wide. - I would go to Urbino.
