Will my cat remember me if I leave for a year?
I'm going to study abroad in Italy next school year for about ten months, and I'm scared that my cat is going to forget me when I come home. I know it's stupid, but I've had her for fourteen years. Again, this will sound stupid, but we're really attached, and I don't want her to not remember me when I return.

Of course she will. I was away from my cat from a year and when I came back, it was like I was never gone. If you've had her for that long, your scent and such are embedded in her mind. She is not going to forget you.

after that long, and if you're really close then of course she wont! she will probably be waiting for you to come home!! i bet when you get back she will run to you :) x

She will remember you, not to fret. My cat Winston (who is skittish around strangers) hadn't seen my niece in 5-1/2 years. When she came to visit, he jumped on her lap, started purring and rubbing her, proceeded to fill her in on the haps for the past five years, then exhausted, curled up on her lap, and happily went to sleep. She will remember you and be thrilled to see you when you get home.

Yes, she will remember you. I had my cat since he was 4 weeks old and took care of him for 1 1/2 years. I then had to move in with my sick grandparents and I sent my cat to live with my parents for a while because I didn't think he would like my Grandmas dog too much. Anyways, whenever I came to visit (every few months) he was so excited to see me, and when I came back to take him home a year later, he was so happy. The second he walked in his new home he purred really loud and was very affectionate, which he usually is not!

Your cat might not remember you when she SEES you again, but she'll absolutely remember you when she SMELLS you again. I read in a book about cats that they have amazing memories for scent and can remember people, other animals and places for years, based on scent. P.S. Good luck on your studies abroad. I did the same thing in my college years and it was the best experience!

I studied through Intrax (intraxstudyabroad.com) and I didn't know a bit of Japanese but I studied in Japan through their program and they taught me Japanese and I learned so much that I was able to get around Japan by myself! It is an amazing program. So you don't necessarily have to learn the langauge before hand with some programs. And learning it while you are in the country is much better than learning it from a book, so try doing a program that will teach you the language while you're there!

I work at Medicine University in the administration section and I started the university until now. In my school and university I was always a good student with good califications. I still continue my studies, because is very important for me. I am study English and Postgraduate in auditori in the University. In my work I attend many people very good so they can feel very comfortable. I work from Monday until Friday at 07 am and 2 pm. Every Monday I am travel at 3 pm to Cielo's city, because I teaching accounted in the University, I return at 12 pm; on Tuesday and Thursday I study English in the BBY school at 6pm at 8 pm; Wednesday I teaching in the University in my city at 6:30 pm at 9:15 pm. Friday in the night and Saturday in the morning I am study in my University National of East Postgraduate. In the week I have work and study. In the Saturday afternoon I sleep because very tired, in the night I am going out diner with my family or my boyfriends, or my friends, or go to the Party depending on the situation. In Sunday I like to cook in my home with my parents and I am go to the cinema. In my free time I like practices football with my friends, special in the sprint and summer. I love go Hairdresser's shop in my free time too. I traveled for many countries when I was teenager, I visit USA and Mexico in 1997 because my birthday, Chile in 1998 with classmate the school, Italy in 2000 I visit the Papa Juan Pablo II, Germany, French, Belgium and Bruxelas in 2005 I visit the Papa Benedict XVI. Frequency in vacation in summer I am go to Brazil with my family. It was very special for me to know these countries; because it is very important to know different cultures and people.
